POP3 SSL does not work the same as the Apache SSL. Apache SSL requires its own IP address.  This allows the server to listen on port 443 of its own IP address.  Via the apache config the server knows that the SSL for that site is located in the sites certificates folder.

The POP configuration does not allow for this level of customization so as result we have to have both POP and IMAP listen on the standard ports (110/143) on all network live interfaces.  As a result of this the system cannot key off of specific SSL certificates when the request comes in.

With that said, its possible to use the shared server name SSL to retrieve email securely. Send an email too our support team for your specific configuration.
