1. Overview
The dotCanada.com affiliate program was developed to reward our customers and partners that promote dotCanada through their websites, word of mouth or other means. In a nutshell, dotCanada will pay you whenever someone you’ve referred becomes our customer.
2. Commissions
Affiliates earn commissions on a tiered payment structure, based upon how many web hosting sales they refer during a calendar month. We pay $60 per signup when an affiliates refers 1 through 5 sales during a calendar month. We pay $80 per signup when an affiliate refers 6 through 10 sales during a calendar month. We pay $100 per signup when an affiliate refers 11 through 20 sales during a calendar month. We pay $125 per signup when an affiliate refers 20+ sales during a calendar month.
The calendar month is defined as starting at 12:00:01 a.m. EST on the 1st of the calendar month (i.e. January 1, 12:00:01 a.m. EST) and ending at 11:59:59 p.m. EST on the last day of the calendar month (i.e. January 31, 11:59:59 p.m. EST.)
Affiliate commissions are not earned under any of the following circumstances:
- A customer has been issued a refund within the first 30 days of service.
- A customer account has been suspended within the first 30 days of service.
- A customer sale that is found to be fraudulent.
- A customer issues a credit card chargeback or Paypal reversal.
- Any repeat web hosting sales by existing customers.
- Any non-web hosting sales (domains only, addons, services, etc…)
- Any co-branded web hosting sales (Costco) as the co-brand partner earns commissions.
- Any Virtual Sales Agent web hosting sales as the VSA-provider earns commissions.
- An affiliate refers themselves or a direct family member.
- An affiliate refers a non-arms-length business (i.e. a business they own.)
- An affiliate materially breaches the Affiliate Terms & Conditions.
3. Reversals
dotCanada reserves the right to issue a commission reversal, in the event that an affiliate is paid as per our terms and conditions, and one of the non-commissionable actions in Item 2 occurs. Specifically, fraud, chargeback, self-referral and breach of Terms. In these cases, a reversal may reduce the per sale commission, if that reversal drops the total sales during the calendar month to a lower tier.
4. Payments
Affiliate commissions are processed and paid to affiliate approximately 40 days after the end of the month in which the sale occurred. At this time, all affiliate commissions are paid through Paypal.
Affiliates are responsible for all fees, taxes, surcharges and other expense incurred in order to receive their commissions Additionally, affiliates are responsible for any income taxes due based upon commissions paid. Please consult an accountant to ensure you are in compliance with your local laws.
5. Advertising
Affiliates may not offer coupons, rewards, incentives, cash back or other rebates without prior written approval. Please contact us if you need an incentive-based offer approved.
Coupons issued by dotCanada take priority over affiliate tracking codes and commissions will not be earned for sales purchased through a coupon, unless specified by dotCanada.
Affiliates may not bid on trademark keywords for PPC advertising. Trademark keywords include dotCanada, dotCanada.com, dot Canada as well as competitive brands and names. If you are not certain if your PPC advertising is in compliance, please contact us prior to launching your campaign.
dotCanada has a zero-tolerance policy towards Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE or “spam”.) Any affiliate promoting dotCanada through email, may only contact double-opt-in recipients. You may also be required to provide double-opt-in confirmation / proof in the event the recipient disputes their agreement to receive your communication.
6. Termination
Failure to comply with these Affiliate Terms & Conditions will result in your affiliate account being terminated, and any earned commission forfeited. To be clear, you will not earn any commission or get paid any money if you can’t follow these Affiliate Terms & Conditions.
False or misleading advertising will result in your affiliate account being terminated.
You may not resell dotCanada web hosting services and earn affiliate commission. Your affiliate account will be terminated.
Affiliates generating a dis-proportionate number of fraud accounts may have their account reviewed and may be subject to termination.
7. Modifications
It is your responsibility to be aware of the Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions at all times. dotCanada reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions in whole or in part, at any time at dotCanada’s sole discretion with or without prior notification. dotCanada will post any changes to these Terms & Conditions on this page and this will constitute notice to affiliates. Your continued use of the Affiliate Program constitutes your acceptance of changes to the Terms and Conditions. If at any time you do not agree to any changes, your exclusive remedy is to discontinue your participation in the affiliate program.
8. Agreement
BY REGISTERING AS AN AFFILIATE YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, YOU MUST DISCONTINUE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS OR DISCONTINUE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM.
